Average quality of demand side is also dusappointing. Perceptions of self are even worse. Schools outside top 100 invite people from top 10. Seriously? They think advisirs will leg them go there?

Given your spelling, I don't think you will have to face this dilemma.

it's a well executed paper in an area where there is little research.. original data.. nice conclusions (what we would have expected.. tough to disagree) .. I guess good letters.. nice presentation skills..
well done Nick!

the average quality on the supply side this year is disappointing. are there any half-successful recent AP willing to move sideways?

I saw this everyyear from demand side who just wanted to gain negotiating power in this noisy market.

^ maybe you did not see a good set of candidates. the rfs paper is griffin's idea. the jmp uses an interesting data set but does not have a great idea or a great finding. i don't see how these are 10x better than other papers/candidates. don't know about the family loss. that is sad.

From what I heard the guy also experienced a pretty big family loss. And I like his two papers and couple ideas 10x most of the candidates I saw with multiple papers and not an original idea in their heads.
