    how to analysis this sentence:

    @OP: think of this as interaction: envy goes up with feeling bad about self as well as feeling hopeless. Envy is with respect to people who have more.

    Let me put in econ terms:

    The students outside of the top-7 schools will envy the top-7 students more if:
    • They have no self-respect
    • They believe they can't move up in the world (get good TT jobs, for instance)

    Rawls's statement is perfectly reasonable, even if one disagrees with it. However, OP's post has serious spelling error, "analysis" should be "analyze." OP no good.
