^^ Maybe, but some place better than W & M will gladly hire someone to ride Y.G.s coattails.

He is getting big money from some shithead donor, but the dean delusionally believes that he will get a Nobel.

    No. Fucking. Way.

Yes, Randy could get the Nobel. He is likely getting good money and not big money. I expect him to go back to Penn or perhaps move to Minnesota.

Wright has done some major papers but is probably 500/1 to get the Nobel. There are at least 1/2 dozen people in my department alone at that level, and if you add up across all top-10 departments probably 50 to 100 economists of his level or above. They can't all get the nobel, and in fact most won't.

Randy Wright will not get the Nobel, nor does he deserve it.

    Satyajit Chatterjee:
    http://www.philadelphiafed.org/research-and-data/economists/chatterjee/

He has done ground-breaking work on aggregation and the economics of default in general equilibrium. Very important work, very insightful person, true scholar, very under-rated researcher.

Kiyotaki is to be credited mostly regarding the money paradigm: he is the true scholar (not that Randy Wright is not a great scholar, but Nobu Kiyotaki is under-rated).

Fogli is NOT at Minnesota because of Perri. He is there because of Kehoe. She has a forthcoming Econometrica. Her work is better known. What has he done lately,
