Don't get your hopes up. They give out offers to the most random candidates you can imagine. So from the 100+ position, only 20 are actually up for grabs. The rest has been decided long ago. A la YP in the WB.

really? how long ago has the rest been decided on? and on what basis?
folks that have worked at the imf before? best non-cognitive skills? the better looking?Posted 8 months ago # -
Try to ask someone inside for the HR report on nationality. If your country is over-represented, then you'll lose some comparative advantages. They just interviewed at AEA and probably call 20+ more for panel. Last year, those who did panel early heard back in mid-late January.

20 only huh? Do you work at one of these institutions? WB or IMF? What exactly do you mean the rest? Thank you

the positions are usually filled before they are advertised. It has always been like that.

Rumor is this year they only hire 20 new EP instead of 40 last year. They already had panels for 2 weeks in DC and Paris in mid December. They interviewed 6 persons/day. You do the math.

^Well, thanks for the info everyone. I guess we will know very soon. If there are any insiders in this forum, do you know what day the EP selection committee will meet? I heard that last year people knew exactly before hand.
