Why does Urzua leave NWU for Maryland?

Personal reasons? 3rd year review maybe? He has good publications, but most of them are coauthored with Heckman. No idea man.

He's good, but Northwestern was the greatest fit in the world. Maryland is a much better place. Of the top 6 departments, NWU might be the least general.

I am in Maryland. Apparently, he has noone to talk to at NWU about his stuff, he's the only one doing any kind of applied micro. Plus Maryland is in desperate need for a development person since Jeanne Lafortune is leaving. I don't know anything about the field but applied micro people are psyched to have him.

There are some good folks in development in the applied econ department. Ken Leonard has awesome publications.
