What are the good places in Japan? I'm a big fan of their culture but I don't know how easy it is to fit in. Do they pay well? English instruction?
Easiness of fitting in? Take it from someone who worked in Japan: You will never fit in. At best, you will be perceived as not too obnoxious but still Not Japanese. (That matters a lot, BTW.) Worst: You will be ignored and shunned. However, most common is that you only make friends in certain small subgroups of Japanese who are very interested in meeting foreigners. You will still encounter discrimination everywhere you go, from stores and restaurants to trains and work situations.
I was a big fan of Japanese culture until spending time there. Now... not so much.Confirmed.
