How many schools have WRDS,CRSP,sciendirect, jstor? I think data and access to papers is a big problem in China. even google scholar, highly censored. Anyone already in China have these info?
Almost all schools in China have not bought the newest datasets of top journals. You can use your research grants to buy by yourself.
The Chinese schools trying to achieve academic credibilty have ridiculously high tenure requirements. Assistants at SAIF, Tsinghua, SHUFE, SWUFE, etc., are struggling to get A pubs even though they make only 60-70k USD per year. Go to Renda b-school if you want to go back to China. They know they are not Tsinghua or Beida, so they will pay more and don't impose ridiculous tenure requirements so they can attract good people and stay competitive.
