From my experience, in most of the schools, they will reimburse the air ticket if:
1. they give you the offer and you accept it.
2. they do not give you offer after flyout.
If you turn down their offer after flyout, you will not be imbursed.
There is not such a ranking. Even if there is, you will doubt about it.
In the official ranking of economics, Renda, PKU, and Nankai are the three best, and THU ranks 17. Will you beleive it???

CCER becomes more likely a policy school. That's fine. China needs more haigui to do (relatively) rigid policy-oriented research. The need is at least as strong as building modern economics.

不是一定要说什么学校怎么好，而是拿数据说话，这也是基本的科研态度，说说风凉话谁都会。
AP at CCER has to have top-field publication, otherwise, they will be kicked out. As I know, some of them have pubs at JDE, JHR. More importantly, they publish their papers by themselves. Except Zheng Bingyong, who at SHUFE can publish his own paper at top-field without a senior coauthor?
Do you know that locally trained econ profs' starting salary is about $500-$600 per month? Flying you to China is 3-months salary.
