It makes perfect sense. She wants to ultimately end up at Harvard or MIT. Maybe she doesn't want to teach for the next three years, so she does that and then gets a TT job at one of those two and gets tenure a couple years after, similar to Finkelstein or Fryer
Another note - what is this affectation of saying "no" at the end of sentences? Sounds very pretentious. (Especially when coupled with ignorance.)

I know it is a french thing. But I also know most of the people saying it nowadays are not french. It sounds ridiculous.
