Guys, calm down. It is too early in the market for you guys to freak out. When I was in the market over 15 years ago, there was no EJMR or much of internet yet. We did not talk much to other graduate students about their interviews or flyouts. All I know was what I got. So I did not compare myself to anyone. My flyouts came mostly in February and March, and in the end I got several offers -- end of February and in March. This is because a lot is going on, and many places do not move very fast (although some do).
Here we are in January and you guys are getting all worked up. Chill out. In January I had absolutely nothing and was focusing in getting my slides done. I am full at a top 30 now.
Try to focus your time and attention in something else other than the market for now.

My job is waiting for me next september, while you will be desperately whining for post-doc.
I will work hard and try to get a tenure, while you will be desperately trying to get friends among "professors", hoping they will be so kind to let you write a paper with (for) them.
Finally, I may be able to be tenured right where I will be working AP since next autumn (hard as it is be tenured in a top-20), or I'll move to somewhere where it is easier; while you will realise you simply cannot do high level research in an economic field someone except you really care about.
So in the end chances for me to fail are present but are way smaller than you.
So you will probably fail, as you have certainly failed in this market.
And you know why?

Keep that in mind as you "work hard and try and get a (sic) tenure". No one wants a prick for a colleague, and folks like me get to vote on cases of pricks like you.

You are wrong. I am in the US, I have students in the market and we are in the market. I come here once in a while to see which kind of info my students are getting. It is just amazing how low the level of EJMR gets sometimes, but I guess this is a function of the level of the people around here. We all know that there are assholes everywhere, I just can't conceive that people like 6962 can actually get an academic job. Or perhaps he did not, he is just a troll.
