从中国move到海外高校有多难？

有没有可能econ tenure以后出国去b school OM, real estate, marketing, accounting？国内有先例吗？
It is more difficult, because many economists--especially Chinese--have no clue of socializing with students in a professional way. It will be extremely difficult to them please MBA students in the US.

In addition to those obvious skills, what matters more is the mindset and attitude. The more elite a MBA program is, the more likely its MBA students were educated as undergradudates in elite universities with a major in social sciences or even humanities. Even though they pursue a carrer in business, they still have something different throughout upbringing. This, in many respects, is contrary to what a successful b-school professor in China could think of.

极难。business school is all about connections. 对中国人而言，美国business专业的rookie如果没有导师帮忙（打电话）都很难，econ专业转business的rookie更难，何况一个从来没有任何connection，人还在中国的candidate？

招人都是看整个 package，candidate 没有 connection 就需要从其它地方去 compensate。比如在 research 上，目标学校招人需要一个 A publication，那没有 connection 的 candidate 可能需要在同等毕业时间内有两个或者更多的 A publication。所以，国内 econ tenure 想出国转商学院，要先掂量一下自己能不能在 connection 以外的地方 compensate。

而且publication也要发商学院的目标journal，经济的journal在这些专业人家有可能不认啊。如果没有相关journal发表又没connection，直接的impression就是不是圈内人，简历就不用看下去了，毕竟candidate实在太多了

是的。商学院 faculty 有商学院的 pride。我见过 econ 毕业后转 IS，marketing 之类的 candidate，但这些 candidate 都是发了相关领域的 top journal 后才有的机会。
经济的 journal 的确会被商学院不认。以前听说过一些 rumor，说是在商学院(不是 top school 的那种)，一篇 AER/EMCA 在算 tenure 的时候，跟一篇 utd24 一样。
