I’m not even mentioning questions of ethics which will become more common.
If social media companies had more social scientists who could reason about ethics and politics, and fewer data science and programming monkeys, they’d have been less woke and hurt themselves lessProgrammers are political r-trds. They just sway with whichever way the political wind is blowing. They just cower to whoever is the loudest shrew in the room. Tech needs more people like Thiel, Hanania and Yarvin, bold and politically savvy.
There are only 2 types of programmers, the BBB EEE TTT AAA type and the MtF
Thiel, Hanania, Yarvin aren't the usual prole programmers.

Look at Roth or Pajeet Agrawal’s juvenile tweets on politics that surfaced last year. Look at Ro Khanna’a exchange with that b1tch Gadde. RK was actually thinking like an economist, in terms of adversarial strategy and equilibrium.

R-trded data scientists used to learning from coursera and playing with kiddie datasets are worried about adults showing up and putting them of business
data scientists are way more technically skilled than economists. they have much better coding skills and practical business sense, whereas all economists can do is regurgitate theoretical concepts that do not matter.
Coding depends on the individual. Practical business sense though come on. Obviously you never worked with DS people (or econ)!!!

Politically savvy people play the game. It might look like they're deferring to leadership, but it's all part of their plan to get ahead. The politically doomb ones are the interns or new grads who try to take down leadership their first week on the job.

yep. going against the top dogs too soon is a guarantee that you'll get destroyed, even if you're right. also a sign of unwarranted megalomania. can think of one or two examples of economists who fell into this trap.
