Events of 2022 have discredited Republicans even more than communists were discredited in 1991. The Turnip that they worshipped turned out to be appeasing the worst mass murderer in human history, who is still lining up Ukrainian civilians for execution. The 'gun rights' that they supported are now leading to children being murdered in US schools (while still minor compared to the genocides being perpetrated).

The differences within the US in things like homicides, school shootings, and gun ownership in per capita terms are really small compared to what an outlier the US is in all this sh”@$y relative to the rest of the developed world.

Another reason the Ds are so hot for gun control is because leftist DAs often drop weapons charges during plea agreements. Thus, any new laws will be not be enforced in D-controlled cities but will be available to use against conservative groups (“domestic terrorists”) even absent some other crime.
