These comparisons are simply ridiculous. Most of private sector jobs in Canada also pay much lower than US. What you earn as an AP in Econ or BSchools are already good enough to maintain high standard of living. Relative standard of living of US APs who work in big cities are no better than APs in Canada given that Canadian schools are mostly located in big cities (Of course those who work in small college towns may be different, but that is a different life)
