Lol many people seem to think hiring schools are stupid. They are not. Demand side is perfectly able to understand rookie isn't the same as seasoned. In fact, several schools expressed that they are looking for rookies only. Also, why would "the Southwestern Community College of Western Idaho fly out a guy with two Top Three publications"? I doubt they are that stupid and waste valuable resources on a candidate that is only coming to practice.We are talking about good FMA schools. Why should they hire a rookie while a seasoned candidate has already two rnrs in top 3?
Fresh ideas, more potential to publish, cheaper if seasoned wants associate salary, longer until tenure which can be good for departments with lots of tenured.
why don't all schools only hire full profs with 10 top 3s? it's just a different type of candidate
