Are you American? You can take out federal student loans to subsidize your income and consumption smooth.
You can expect to make $100,000 a year *minimum* after you graduate. No reason** to live off just your stiped for the next few years.

OP, one of the joys of grad school is that you have a valid excuse to romanticize and live the bohemian poverty lifestyle. Tattered sweaters from Goodwill? Looking hip! Eating rice and beans and getting drunk off 40s? A man of the people.
There will be time later in life to get bougie and pay $20 for 2 small instagrammable tacos. Grad school is for arguing economics over cheap beers and a super beat up couch in your apartment with your other Econ phd roommate and your cohort mates.
