^She said "go the extra mile" which is clearly not the same as doing more than the minimum. The term "should be hardworking" means what exactly? It is a meaningless term. If the employer wants you to "go the extra mile", then they should pay you more.

Make a list of innovators, founders, etc. Most of them aren't conservative. Conservatism is about preservation of power structures. It is actually a deeply anti-american concept.
This has nothing to do with Wax opinion piece? Thinking about the greatest recent innovators, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Walt Disney were the greatest of the last century and they were fairly conservative.

^ you are twisting her message. It's not clear at all that you should "go the extra mile". It really depends on the situation. She says things like "respect authority", "go to the extra mile for your employoer", etc. But this is precisely how people get in trouble with regards to harassment, poor pay, etc. In fact, one of the biggest hurdles for employees is not negotiating well for their salary and benefits.

^ this is too silly, not even worth responding to. Going the extra mile is not the opposite of "doing the minimum". Everything she writes is just a way for employers to screw their employees. "respect authority", "go the extra mile", etc. This is why women get paid less than guys: they are afraid of negotiating for better pay.

They were considered conservative in their era too.
