The base salary is around 110 (Lecturer - Level B) or 130 (Senior Lecturer - Level C). Then each school/department - depending on their discretionary fund - can add loading up to 50-70 percent base salary. How much the loading will be offered depending on their SC and HoS specific expectations. Then add standard benefits and research funds.

That does not sound bad. I guess full professors get paid double that amount?

Yes, Full Professors (Level E) will be higher. It think it is possible to get double for Level E position. One key factor (from what I heard) is Level E is expected to obtain ARC grants. So the University can give additional loading conditional on securing the grants.

What about ANU
do not recommend unsw accounting. Salaries and overall research capabilities is far below unsw finance. Most academic staff of unsw accounting are students of one or two powerful professors of unsw accounting. The problem of australian accounting faculty is most of them are locally trained, and thus are of a lower standard compared to professors of US schools. Also heard that new/ less powerful staff are required to share papers and data with those who are more powerful in the school, so be careful with school politics/bully.
U of Melbourne is a much better place. Go to university of melbourne if you can.
