Ag Econ Job Market 2022-2023

This new executive order seems to have destroyed env econ for anyone that was interested in advancing science, versus doing accounting for redistributing the pie: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/04/21/fact-sheet-president-biden-signs-executive-order-to-revitalize-our-nations-commitment-to-environmental-justice-for-all/
As a grant funded researcher that has been pressed to the limit to find any grants where actual science can be done (DEI changes the research questions and chews up lots of $$), I thought going into the fed gov might be a way to dodge some of this, or at least not have to compete for grants with natural scientists pandering to each other pretending to be social scientists. Seems no. Between this and the H1B program wrecking the labor market for economists, it's hard not to consider voting R at least at the presidential level going forward.
