Very sad news.
Alan Krueger died

I wish I had a CV like Acemoglu's.
No, I am just a random guy working in the industry after getting my Ph.D.omg. I loved his paper "Minimum wages and employment: A case study of the fast food industry in New Jersey and Pennsylvania".
I read it while I was a first year Ph.D. student. Now 9 years have passed...

Acemoglu spotted. AK conduct his research on KFC in this paper.

I remember arriving at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge one year for an NBER-related conference (can't remember if SI or otherwise).
Anyway, while I was stepping out of my airport taxi, Alan Krueger rolled up in a shiny new luxury car and jumped out looking perfect, like a total boss.
Disagree with some of his research if you must (as I do), but you cannot deny that everything this guy was on paper was also reflected in his public persona.
Seeing him that day made me step up my game and, while my legacy on paper or otherwise will never be close to his, he made me be a better economist.

I was his student at Princeton. He was a great guy. I kinda wanted to be like him always.

RIP. Cause of death?
Exactly. How did he die so we can all avoid it?
Heart stopped
This is the most probable reason, FWIW. I don't get why everyone on here is so obsessed by it. Everyone should just wish the guy peaceful rest on move onto their meaningless lives.
