We just work on projects that integrate with other projects, but its all a facade. It takes a long time to discover this, the system is so complex its opaque. After 7 months on the team, i realized it. Senior people never "explain the full system", which I thought was a culture thing. But its actually an insecurity about the uselessness of their work.
And this is how all of society works. In a friend group of mine, a friend protrays himself as a big baller entrepreneur/day trader. He owns an 80k tesla. He also has almost no money and continually gas lights his GF that they are close to striking it rich. Other friends in the group look the other way, and he viciously rips people down that challenge his "status".
And then SBF, epstein, and so on. All the way down society is like this
