There is no hope for what currently passes as American society after a century of deracination and decline.
Currently, everything goes over budget, gets completed late, and has issues. This is inevitable because everything is bureaucratized and heavily regulated, have diversity hires, employees are lazier every generation (and now very fat, addicted to their phones, often addicted to dangerous substances), people feel no pride in their work (and merely view it as a gig), rent seekers control everything without Noblesse Oblige, and too many projects are political.
This will continue as it is normal in third world countries, and after generations of decline the American people have become third worlders living in a first world country. This decline has been hidden by living off of the social capital of older generations that will be entirely gone with the boomers, the success of industries built by older generations and sustained by immigrants, covered up by debt, and by older infrastructure and patents built by prior generations.
But current Americans are illiterate: the average 18-25 year old spends ten minutes a day reading for fun compared to 50 minutes for those over 65 and nearly 100 minutes for the prior generations who have recently passed. The US has over 100,000 drug ODs a year. The obesity rate is off the charts. Most people are addicted to technology. 44% of children are now illegitimate. College graduates cannot name any classic novels or Latin idioms. Over 20% of women are on anti-depressants. Total demographic displacement in major parts of the country by third world immigrants.
The US military is largely impotent. A near trillion dollar budget, but it lacks the man power to police the countryside of Afghanistan. A police force that stands by during mass shooings due to safety concerns and allow people to burn cities. If a woman is assaulted on a subway, bystanders watch and do nothing. There is a dearth of courage that Solzhenitsyn spoke of nearly five decades ago that has gotten out of control.
In truth, American society is a corpse at this point. The “right” roots for the corpse, the left roots for the decay.
It is really just a matter of how does this end and what comes next.
