I don't know anyone who doesn't have some serious regrets with decisions that they made in their 20s.I have nothing but regret. Virtually nothing went right
Good. The world would be better if little whiny emos like you were used as pack animals.
You’re lower than an animal yourself. You deserve to be pink slime

This is normal. You did very well the first N years of your life, otherwise you would not have a phd. But since you’re in a difficult field you eventually fail. The only question is when. You’re so bad at logic. Failing to progress further in one’s PhD field doesn’t mean regretting one’s life. Horizontal transitions are a thing. Contentment with one’s situation is also a thing.
But you wouldn’t know about that, would you, you stoopld, one-dimensional numpty?

Neither of you have the wits to stand against me alone, so you must cling to one another like goats.
LOL. How pitiful you are as individuals. Path/etic little herd animals, waiting for the slaughter!

LOL. I am literally superhuman. Now bury your head in the sand, emo.
You sound a lot more like a messed up grad student at a Chicago type place but ok. Hopefully you will make some superhuman contributions to human knowledge commensurate with your superhuman stats some day.

Beside everyone here just complaining about bad luck, I think there is some truth to the idea that rents to professionals are declining.
I think, surprisingly, this is due to management innovation. Managers have more precisely defined the inputs needed to achieve X quality product, and realized that lower quality workers are fine in most cases.
This is bad for all high achievers, i.e. everyone on this board.
odd comment

yes i think that's part of it. as companies and business mature, management becomes more efficient. they figured out how to minimize employee pay and maximize output while rewarding themselves. same thing that happened to manufacturing workers is happening to professional workers now.

The flip side is that businesses are super profitable now. Everyone rich person I know is wayyy richer than they were in 2010.

rents to professionals are declining, but rents to true talent is on a massive incline. people are no longer taking credentials at face value

While this is sort of true, maintaining talent throughout your life is very hard. Rents were the perk of having a profession.
Also, as capital eclipses labor in returns, one might as well just gamble on Bitcoin or NFTs or open up an Arby’s instead of try to continually be the best of the best.
