Are you new to EJMR? I wouldn't go to Norway even if their salaries were above European average, which they aren't.

I dont understand why some of these people arent just headhunted by US universities... Or are there no good economists in the country?

Unless you are absolutely brilliant, US universities have huge expectation on you to teach well. You work like a donkey in the US; groveling before undergrads and stressing over research.
The university wants you to babysit them - you can’t play who cares attitude like in Europe. How would US universities know if you are a good fit when you haven’t had such experience before?

There are definitely a few good people; the labor group is quite strong for example. Im at an MRM, and we wouldnt make that teaching distinction when hiring. But maybe thats just us.
