What is the average salary for economics and finance assistant professor in Singapore? Any information will be very much appreciated.
AP Salary in Singapore

Nothing offensive. This is just the reality in general. I just tried to provide some useful information to OP since I do not know whether he is in Economics or Finance.
Of course, if you are a very successful Ph.D. graduate from Standard or Chicago (or some school like that), then you probably can get a position in business school (either in Economics, or Finance, or accounting) and can have a relatively high salary.
At higher levels (associate or assistant), then the salaries vary a lot, depending on the output.
Economics earn less than finance at AP level.
well duh

In Singapore, the pre-tax pay for an finance AP is around 220K USD (some got more). The tax rate is 12%.
For marketing, it is around 180K USD (pre-tax).
For accounting, 220k USD.
It varies across the three schools in Singapore (SMU, NUS, NTU).
For Econ, I do not have the number, but I saw the number from this website earlier. It does not reach that high.

The salary is good for expats, though that's partly because you don't get the same pension benefits as native Singaporeans. Additionally, Singapore is crazy expensive to live in, and my sense (I interviewed there) is that foreigners can't get the more affordable HDB flats (living in public housing is not just for the poors in Singapore).

About 120-150K (USD) for a 12 mo contract for fresh econ PhDs
About 200-220K (USD) for a 12 mo contract for fresh finance PhDs
Expectation for tenure is comparable to top20 US though (3-5 As for finance) - unreasonable but that's what they expect.I'm not an economist so YMMV, but I was offered less money, but a 3 year contract. As you said, publication expectations were high, but the upside was a 1/1 teaching load.
