   what they have shown is nothing more than a single example of how markets can erode moral standards in a very narrow hypothetical setting (a situation that does not occur in real life). there are thousands of counterexamples where markets enforce moral standards, i.e. short selling effectively disciplining frauduludent companies such as wirecard, adler group etc.. To what extend their example can be generalized to the extend that would allow you to reach the conclusion that "markets erode moral standard" is highly questionable. AF's arguments are often missing at least one intellectual layer that would be mandatory for publication in other disciplines. When we criticized this during the undergrad, he was not able to take such criticism well.

   unfortunately, this is true.

   there are so many examples of predatory profs (regardless of gender) doing this stuff, it is unreal.

   however, usually, the more 'junior' person usually just rides it out, takes all the fame/glory and rides the more powerful person's coat tails until the bitter end (usually a divorce)
