Nobody. The boomers will spend it all on end-of-life treatment and caribbean cruises
Lame. This shows *share* of national income. It's just boomer investments + population growth + time
Besides, who do you think will inherit boomers' wealth?

They will consume it through reverse mortgages.
So the healthcare and entertainment sectors will receive it. OK.

Guy who talked about ranking values in the order (partner, education, job) here.
A few observations to my replies:
1. To those who say you need money to find a partner, I would say this goes against all the dating I saw in high school and college, and has problematic consequences. It leads to later coupling and selects for partners who might be more interested in your money.
2. If you are on the site, in all likelihood, you will make more than enough money, provided you work on your personality. As a rich guy, I'll let you in on a secret: You can have a great life on $100K/year consumption for the family. We live in an era of material abundance, but spiritual decline. I don't mean this in a religious sense necessarily, simply that I think our society's values are misplaced and we look for meaning in meaningless activities (e.g., publishing).
3. Your values will evolve over time. Lust often starts a relationship, and that will indeed fade over time, for internal and external reasons. Marriage can be like a startup, and I feel fortunate to have picked a great co-founder. There are so many things that can sink a startup. Your satisfaction with your job will likely decline over time, unless you are lucky to find intrinsic satisfaction from your research and training the next generation. I also tend to think academia will be disrupted over the next 20 years, similar to how media was disrupted over the past 20. You might not have the option of what you imagine now as a satisfying career path, then what?
But will a relevant amount of that filter down to your average millennial?

Try to think In terms of distributions, ret@rd
For goodness sakes. My siblings are all millennials and own homes. None have grad degrees. They live in the highest COL areas: coastal SOCAL; Bay Area. They all have multiple kids.
Maybe the problem is you aren’t bright OP and aren’t good looking?
OP and everyone else in this thread do not discuss distributions, clo/wn.

Sad to see all these boomers and 40 something larping as millenials.
You best hope the fed keeps propping up your sh1jtty real estate mcmansions
I am a millennial with three children a house and a NW of $500k. Proof: TMNT, Power Rangers, and I was in 10th grade French when I heard about 9/11, and thought it was an accident until we heard about the second plane
lol, as a combined distribution they earn more because they are higher educated. Yeah, those without a skill are doing bad because they compete with the rest of the world. Too bad for them. They should have finished high school.
Lol, millennials and zoomers here constantly blaming “boomers” for everything wrong in their lives are no different from the wo/ke crowd they despise. They’re just constantly pointing the finger outward.
Millennials are the best educated, highest earning, healthiest, safest generation in human history. They stand to inherit substantial wealth, as well. Yet still they complain. Ridiculous.
— late gen X-er.Millennials are not the highest earning generation in human history. There's a bifurcation by education. Less educated millennials are earning less at the same age compared to all prior generations up to the silent.
Have you ever looked around at your academic colleagues? It's like a UN meeting.

I hope you are wrong, and I am scared you are right.
