   It's OK; it's normal to feel that way. Econos are very cutthroat during seminars relative to other fields. It's the math envy that makes people bitter, I think.

   You can stop more or less if you coauthor with econos who are willing to present the joint work. But they might get annoyed if you always pass the onus off to them.
