LSE EME/Econ
https://www.lse.ac.uk/economics/study/taught-masters/career-and-phd-destinationsLSE seems to be a diploma mill- about 200 different masters programs. But I couldn't find a CS masters. I guess they don't have a CS department. Pretty glaring weakness these days to be considered HRM or MRM.

LSE EME/Econ
https://www.lse.ac.uk/economics/study/taught-masters/career-and-phd-destinationsThis is still good, but all their other degrees including the straight econ master's are undergraduate-level classes (by LSE's standard). It is also the only program at LSE that guarantees a PhD admission at LSE conditional on a distinction. Still, the degree is north of 30k these days, with very limited or no funding given, and there are only about 30 or so spots so it is not an option for everyone.

Not that I want to do Econ phd, but I did take 6 phd classes (top 5 econ a math uni) as applied math ug. 2 were prob theory A/B, 2 were from the finance discrete/continuous time finance theory, and 2 from Econ phd econometrics electives. I got all A’s. Now will do cs phd at top 4 uni. No need for a predoc.
why would you do the cs phd when it is no higher salary than if you were to go to FAANG right now?
Because he doesnt want to be a code monkey. is this a trick q?

Code monkeys have jobs. People who can't code have to rent-seek or live with parents.
This is the 2023 labor market. These are your choices.

I'm 0B7F, on my phone.
I'm American, where are you from?
What are these great options? Maybe do a post-bac and try for med school in the 2024-5 cycle.

dude, you're m-ill. why would anyone want to spend their days in front of a screen doing coding? wth is wrong with you. Thats literally the last option for anyone with a high i/q and any self-respect.

Both EME and Econ used to guarantee admission to PhD conditional on distinction. Not anymore, however. They are changing it next year. Also, Econ is not that different from EME other than in the econometrics course. Econ students can take Advanced EME Micro, and EME and Econ students take the same elective courses
