Bonn Placement 2021

they admit 25 people every year, place 5. Kudos.
They don't accept 25 people every year which you could have easily fact-checked before posting:
https://www.bgse.uni-bonn.de/en/people/student-directoryHow many European universities are able to place into Harvard??? Their placements have been amazing so no reason to get jealous if your uni isn't as good!

Stop this man! This has been being repeated to the point where it doesn't seem even funny.

How many European universities are able to place into Harvard??? Their placements have been amazing so no reason to get jealous if your uni isn't as good!23 people in 2020. Checked. I guess the previous years are the same minus attrition due to people realizing that they are in Bonn.
But sure, the selected 5 guys that survived are very good.

But sure, the selected 5 guys that survived are very good.Why do people enjoy lying? Let me just show you something. Bonn only started to admit 15+ students very recently (in 2017), you can check each cohort size:
* Cohort 2015 (some placed last year already) - 10 students - https://www.bgse.uni-bonn.de/en/people/student-directory/2015
* Cohort 2016 (going on market next year) - 13 students - https://www.bgse.uni-bonn.de/en/people/student-directory/2016
* Cohort 2017 (going on the market in 2 years) - 17 students - https://www.bgse.uni-bonn.de/en/people/student-directory/2017
* Cohort 2018 - 17 students
* Cohort 2019 - 19 students
* Cohort 2020 - 23 studentsAlso, it is expected that some students have the preference not to stay in academia, and that is also fair and respectable. Excluding 2019, Bonn has consistently placed on average 10 students either in academia or CBs, IMFs, and other research institutions, each year! 10 out of 15 seems pretty good to me. This year, a bit below average, they have 7 on the job market, 4 already placed. Why all the jealousy?

I'm super shocked to see that despite being an LRM by US standard, Bonn has a placement record comparable to US top 10 (e.g. two Harvard TT) in 2020.
How did they manage to make it? E.g. Is it because the European structure of PhD promote better supervision? What can US schools learn from their European peers?
