how the h can you have evidence of someone being overrated or opportunistic? overrated would require evidence of a specific rating. opportunistic would require someone taking a video at a conference or whatever.
she is mediocre. wtf is "A Structured Analysis of Unstructured Big Data by Leveraging Cloud Computing". all analysis in a paper is structured analysis. unstructured big data = ok, get it, but really. leveraging cloud computing = who cares? by that token every strategy regression monkey can write a paper with a title "marketing matters: an astute analysis using cutting edge Intel silicon microprocessors with advanced Stata software while breathing pure oxygen".Evidence?

Happen to see this. I have to second it.
Xiao Liu’s style, including her personality and research, is definitely not respected in the field. She obviously pales in comparison with other mkt APs at NYU Stern.
Yeah she is famous for her opportunistic mindset and taking other people. Fame-seeking and lack of security, behaving in an opportunistic and reckless manner.Xiao Liu at NYU Stern is indeed overrated and opportunistic. If you talk to her, you will find out that she is so so, not even at the top-notch to begin with. She seems to be good at use others to achieve her own goal. Hearing lots of people complaining about her in the field for being disrespectful and arrogant, more importantly, for being opportunistic, not behaving in a scholarly way.
She won’t get tenure

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defence of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations, the new needs friends... Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.

I think she got it. Is "associate" the same as tenured at NYU? cause she just changed to associate this year

Not quite. Looks like you are not familiar with the promotion systems here. Associate without tenure's title can be given to any AP staying for 6+ yrs, even if s/he is hopeless toward the tenure.
