I have been on two hiring committees and black applicants were not favored at all. The whole system is rotten including the journals.
This duplicitous debate is tiresome. Anyone who has ever been on a b-school search committee KNOWS that black applicants are given tremendous preference in hiring decisions. There is discrimination. But it favors blacks over everyone else.
