Lots of top Latin American folks in econ. Not sure they're even recognized as "Hispanic". I'm pretty sure they just fill out their ethnicity as "white".
Many of them don't have the shamelessness to claim URM status when their families are generally quite wealthy compared to most of their countrymen. And a typical Chilean or Argentine economist doesn't see himself substantially different from an Italian or Spanish economist. Foreign, not oppressed.
