   On Thursday, the California system’s governing board voted unanimously to extend [the] optional period for another year, and then become “test blind” for two years when determining whether to accept in-state applicants, using standardized tests only to award scholarships, determine course placement and assess out-of-state students.

   In 2025, consideration of the SAT or ACT for any student’s admission, in or out of state, would be eliminated.

   If they don't have test scores, victims with bad personalities can't prove discrimination.

    Same here. I had a 3.3 GPA in HS but a 1580 on the SATs. That's how I got into a good college.

    Same with me, I ace standardized tests but am too unfocused and lazy to keep my GPA up. We need to get together and form a pressure group to represent our interests. This isn’t fair.

    How can any kid signal anything to CA universities? I guess they will have a tiny "real quality" group of students with olympiad medals, verifiable coding skills, etc. Then they will get a tough to verify group. Over time the rigor of classes will likely decrease. In the US where everyone inflates their resume with extracurricular activities and where recommendation letters really do not mean that much this is a terrible idea.

    If this is the way they are going they should let all HS grads interested in college into a large 2-year pre-college program and admit students to the last 2/3 years of "real university" based on performance in the pre college.

    This is simply unfair.

    I have two thoughts about this:

    1. This may backfire on the PC crowd. The UC faculty did a study that showed SAT/ACT increased representation, and that removing standardized testing could lead to decreased diversity.

    2. (Not trolling.) I have been registered a democrat all my life, and always been a supporter of equality. I have been thinking about starting to vote Republican because the PC crowd is illegibly radical and advancing a worldview that makes race/gender/identity MORE prominent instead of less so. They want a world where children are judged by the color of their skin and not by the content of their character? What would MLK think of them?
