Decisions are out
Chicago PhD admission
-
Let me be the first to tell you to not go to the University of Chicago under any circumstances. They ate 2/3 of their students last year and this year we still only see 1/2 of them on the market. Their PhD completion rate is unclear but is likely lower than all other top 30 universities.

Avoid Chicago. They are dishonest. I applied and was accepted. For personal reasons I asked if I could defer my admission for one year. The admissions chair said yes, in writing. He said I would need to apply again but that I should include his letter with my materials and that I would be accepted next year. I was rejected. I send a letter, with a copy of the admissions chair letter to me, to the dept chair and the arts & sciences dean. They did not lift a finger. It is an unethical place.

To be fair, schools do not generally permit you to do this.

That sounds exactly like Chicago. They are extremely dishonest and do not give a s**t about their students in any way.

Harvard, Stanford, MIT. Name the fourth that strictly dominates Chicago.
Agree with 5C24. Although Chicago treat their students badly, it is still a top 5 and you get genius classmates/profs around you. It helps.
Why do you say its top5? What is your metric to feel so confident in saying "top 5"?

In what dimension do you want the comparison? Because I've heard many people say that Berkeley/Yale/NYU/Northwestern are better than Chicago in one way or another.

As I mentioned above, the quality of classmates and faculties. Berkeley or Yale might be comparable to Chicago. But isn't it normal to have 6-7 top 5s?
Now your turn. Show Chicago is at least weakly dominated.
