I'm aware of that but it's exactly the opposite of what you suggest. The moral of the story is that once you start reforms you lose the power. Xi is doing the opposite, he is doubling down on everything. You are somehow suggesting he is right.

Sun Yat-sen was one of the most prominent pioneers of China's democracy, the first leader of the Kuomintang party, which is now a major party in Taiwan.

Ironically, Sun Yat-sen is highly respected by CCP as opposite to CCP's defamation on Chiang Kai-shek who led Kuomintang party, was defeated by CCP in China's civil war during 1927 to 1949, and retreated to Taiwan afterwards.

XI is deliberate and malicious, and Is able to consolidate all the power in just a few years.

Along many dimensions, Xi is more capable than Mao. Mao has to mobilise the entire nation to gain more power from his political enemies (like Liu Shaoqi, etc.), but Xi did so quietly, quickly, and efficiently. Xi removed many formal national leaders from their positions, including those controlled the army and police, without any trouble.

The Chinese government is the most powerful government in the world, as it controls all the tax and state owned enterprises in the country. Government in the US, while being powerful as well, doesn’t really have that much “disposable income” in hand.

XI’s dream is to become someone like Emperor Wu of Han dynasty. He wants to set new international rules and establish es a new political ideology based on ancient Chinese culture.

He is ambitious and everything he does is to build a Chinese emperor.

What I read from the history is the conservatism among intellectuals is fairly like today, and the outcomes were disastrous last time because all the social problems remained unsolved and eventually resorted to violence.

Most elites wanted slow reforms and did not want westernisation and so they generally supported the imperial regime. But the imperial government didn’t want to lose power so all the reforms were half baked. Because of no real reforms, all social problems persist . In the end, both the imperial government and these old time elites were swept into the ashes by the revolution, a series of civil wars, and then the communists.

China bro here. Nobody likes Xi, and Xi is perceived much worse than Hu. But, people are doing fine in their life, so don't expect any upheaval.

In general, you have to realize that US and China share little common interest, while CCP and Chinese people's interests are partially aligned. In other words, US benefits the most if China is in chaos, while Chinese people hurt the most.

China is not an Island. One of the things that make Xi strong is the current US administration for instance, a very useful not very clever ennemy unifies you.

I notice that when the western media criticizes Chiba, it’s typically not really about China but it’s really about scapegoating some of their own problems. Don’t get me wrong. I’m highly against Xitler, what goes on in Xinjiang, etc. i do believe that China would be better off by greater distribution of power at the top and change of leadership transition every ten years and it doesn’t seem like Xitler will do that - that will create a lot of tension in the next couple of tears.

After all the chaos erupted since he is China's leader, do you have regrets about his leadership? Was this bound to happen or has it have to do with his style of leadership? Do you miss Hu Jintao?

Again, the China describe by the western media and the real China, are completely different worlds.
I am living in china(after 7years in the us and 2 years in europe), but no matter what I say, you wont believe. so why bother to ask?

The problem is information asymmetry.
In China, the government can portray foreign actors whatever they want.
There is no counterbalance between Fox and CNN. It's all Fox and WAY worse.
