I have a long term girlfriend. At bars, when I have friendly conversations with girls, sometimes it trends towards "want to get another drink?" or "want to dance?" or "want to grab dinner?" I just say I have plans and have to go in a bit. About 1/3 then get irate and ask me aggressively if I'm a f**got, another 1/3 are just like oh well, and the last 1/3 try to give me their number. I think for guys, the numbers are like 1/10, 2/5, 1/2.
I'm just curious why this poster doesn't actually tell the females that he had a girlfriend. He really likes the attention (even though it is going nowhere and is actually just leading them on). So, of course you are going to get mixed reactions when you say "you have plans." I bet "I have a girlfriend" would yield a different response.
IMO no particularly if a woman is really in love with the guy and/or his pocket. She will surely feel very bad, and think she is not sufficient for the guy or is not convincing enough. In retaliation, she will insist as no man has ever done with a girl, but will get rejected again for her annoying attitude. The intensity of a woman's feelings in this case is so evident that any person around her would notice her frustration (not so evident in the case of men). A woman who faces more similar rejections will feel so bad that will blame her looks, but never her weak attitude towards her partners in this kind of situations. A man would never behave like that because, in the medium and long-run, must of them will accept that many variables can determine such rejections, and therefore will be positive about a second chance with another girl. It's just that simple.
