I agree the term is co-opted by uncreative/low IQ people. But that doesn't mean creativity doesn't exist.

I think artistic creativity is very different from mechanical or mathematical creativity.
Artistry is about putting things together in a unique way that activates human emotion.
This type of skill is very different from the spatial intelligence or pattern recognition skills that are important for general problem solving.

Art is skill and artistic skill can be measured like an IQ test, using tests. How do you think people get into art academies?
As for being a ‘great’ artist or author, the cases behind aren't mysterious qualities like creativity but is partly IQ, partly special skills that can be measured by a test, and luck. The luck here is life experience: interesting life experiences + IQ + skills = art.
If you can't test it, it doesn't exist or is a wider range of causes (i.e., mostly luck).
If you get lower math and writing grades than others but start your own 'rap album' or start some Twitter account that gets lots of hits, you're not 'creative'. You're just a BSer who can't demonstrate intelligence by scientific measures like IQ tests or GPA, and come up with BS concepts like 'creativity' to describe random luck.

Agree. Creativity exists but it's an extention of knowledge and general intelligence. People who think creativity is a separate and independent thing are a bunch of copers.

No artistry is about having skills and producing beauty. It's not that different from mathematics (and no, I'm not saying that people who are talented in maths are also talented in arts and vice versa, the same way that people talented in plastic arts may also not be good in musical arts).
