   I think artistic creativity is very different from mechanical or mathematical creativity.
   Artistry is about putting things together in a unique way that activates human emotion.
   This type of skill is very different from the spatial intelligence or pattern recognition skills that are important for general problem solving.

   Art is skill and artistic skill can be measured like an IQ test, using tests. How do you think people get into art academies?
   As for being a ‘great’ artist or author, the cases behind aren't mysterious qualities like creativity but is partly IQ, partly special skills that can be measured by a test, and luck. The luck here is life experience: interesting life experiences + IQ + skills = art.
   If you can't test it, it doesn't exist or is a wider range of causes (i.e., mostly luck).

   Creativity is BS because the only scientific measure of intelligence is IQ. That's it. 'Creativity' is just something that low-IQ, college dropouts talk about to make themselves feel better about dropping out of high school. Just like the ppl here in EJMR post stories and freak incidents about how "LRM" types can make it to "HRM". Anyone who posts that is just a LRM type trying to make themselves feel better.
   It's just another Orwellian label to make blcks feel like they're smarter than Azns.

    Two people with the same IQ can vary in creativity. For example, one person with an IQ of 120 might be an accountant with little aesthetic sense, while another might be an artist.

    Creativity can actually be quantified (e.g. number of preftigious awards received; number of people in the field who list one as an influence; number of works meeting some fixed criteria).

    IQ is an imperfect attempt to measure one's *general* ability relative to others, and doesn't necessarily reflect creativity in a specific domain.
