   RAP doesn't count as teaching track I believe
   Although it's pretty a new thing to hear about
   And with RAP you still get the prestige of and get called as a professor, which may worth the pay cut

   Don't think they speak good enough Cantonese to be tutor kings, and these are quite insulting jobs for some one who have spent 6 years in MIT

   Well teaching track is also an insulting job ... if they cut my pay in half I think I will find a way to leave very quickly ...

   Some schools in HK (following those in the UK and Europe) only allow full professors to be called professors.

   ^that's not the point. "Research Assistant Professor" on one's c.v. is not nearly as obvious a demotion as "Lecturer" or "Senior Lecturer" (or, God forbid, "Teaching Fellow"). It could even look good, like you got a grant to buy out your teaching, or something.
