   I don't think there are any prominent wconomists left who primarily focus on such area

    They are as useless as any other economic papers on QJE, AER,JPE. The profession is so funny. Applied theory people think pure theory is useless. Macro and reg monkeys think theory is useless. Then finance dorks think macro is useless. In the end, industry dudes think all finance research is useless.

    When you say something is useless, you mean you do not care. Fine. Just stay away.
