Anybody ever hear of private firms hiring economists (either full-time or consulting) to use DSGE modeling? How useful is DSGE in the private sector, e.g., some finance consulting company.
I look on a place like indeed.com and the only place that ever comes up for DSGE as a keyword is one of the Fed branches.
DGSE = Mathematical sandbox with no relevance for the real world beyond aspie academic economists who wish they had the brains to be a mathematician.
Redditors unwelcome here.
As for OP, I have a hard time imagining what a bank or hedge fund would do with a DSGE model, unless maybe they wanted to draw their own conclusions about Fed policy, separate from what the Fed says.
