Collapsed building are now over 7500. Official death toll is almost 25K. This death toll only include people the dead people who are pulled from the collapsed buildings and identities known. Lots of deaths whose identities are unknown, they are buried in mass graves after their DNA samples are taken (if possible at that time). In future when a relative looks for their missing dead person in the area, they will be able to try to match via DNA, and locate in which grave their dead relative is buried.
This is all very very upsetting. The survivors lost their lives in a sense as well, when they lost almost everything that makes their life meaningful. They will need a lot of help. I want to see them getting the help.
6K+ buildings collapsed and the number is rising. Even if you assume 40 people living in each building on average (a very conservative estimate), that makes about 25K people under collapsed buildings. Most will be declared dead in upcoming days unfortunately. :(
