Thanks. You have very valid point. It is not all about money
So coming back to my original post question.
How much EM Lyon, EDHEC, ESSEC pay for assist/ associate?
I would not call Dauphine a b-school. It's a university. Quite different in terms of research environment, expectations for teaching etc.
In the US too, econ departments pay much less than b-schools.
As we have seen somewhere else, Dauphine is even paying less
Yes, I know. I'm just trying to say that if you think that pay is low at French B-Schools (except for HEC, INSEAD and to some extent EM Lyon, EDHEC, ESSEC) then check out public universities where even the very best pay quite often less than mid-range business schools (and no bonuses for publications, etc.). Obviously, research environment is different, etc. I switched to French B-School. The marginal improvement in public universities with regard to research was just not worth it. Especially since I teach less at this French B-School, get more research money for conferences and stuff, very high publication bonuses, etc. But, yes colleagues are on average less research-oriented, etc. But that's why you still get affiliated with a CNRS lab. That's best of both worlds in my opinion. Oh, and my wife is French, etc. so I just live my life there. Pay could be higher, but I'm enjoying my lifestyle.
