   Relying on credentials is an ok heuristic in general, but if you actually have the background to evaluate the arguments someone is making, why wouldn't you? And if you don't, what was the point of that econ PhD?

   This is silly. Of course economists (and anyone else) can "pontificate" on this. Epidemiologists (who have hardly covered themselves in glory) have no special expertise in the tradeoffs involved in online education.

    Not sure I saw any real #s are epi/econ arguemnts that you could evaluate. She just said remote learning isnt as good as in person and that she feels the tradeofss arent worth it. Not sure what everyone is b1tching about.
