^overrated. No loss.
Debopam has an impressive pipeline.
The rate at which people are quitting was high, but is accelerating. Of people hired in the past 5 years, Huffman, Fenske, Heller, Manova, Vigier all left already. Adams and Ferrero are looking to move, and probably others that I don't know about. This is on top of all the ones they lost earlier (quah, mukerji, myatt, and so on).

Adams has not started yet, how can he be already looking for a move? This is fake news. Are some People envy of the recent success of Oxford?

All hail Oxford and the glory of their recent hires! The heralds will sing songs of their top 5s throughout the land.

Abi Adams \neq Klaus Adam.
An update on this topic ahead of the incoming academic year would be helpful for potential job applicants. Any inside info, please?
BTW, is it true that debopam is visiting nuffield college next year?
Debopam is not leaving Cambridge. He is happy at Cambridge and has now bedded in.
Last year they hired a guy with zero publications and only one R&R (top5) as an “Associate Prof.” Not complaining about the academic judgement, just want to point out that Oxford Assoc Prod is really a near-rookie tenure-track position (at least if you are an insider). It’s hard for Oxford to hire and retain more established people in these positions.
If you check their website, I am surprised by how only a few professors have PhD from top universities (some Yale and New York), I would have expected faculty members from Oxford to have PhD from top-notch universities. Is this a prelude of the demise of Oxford as a top department in Economics?

Oxford is only strong in garbage collection.

That's the Oxford mentality - they don't care where you get your PhD from because chances are it can't match Oxford in terms of prestige (to them).
