Did you know? There is a fake Journal of International Economics!
http://knrajlibrary.wordpress.com/2014/03/05/8cb/
And it seems that some people in Italy publish there to claim they have published in JIE.
Looks like people are using these exchanges because they have a personal grudge at a certain professor/s, who is/are singled out in these exchanges.
I don't think it matters where one published, as long as it his/her own original work. If a journal or publication duplicates the name of another journal, let their editors worry about it. Besides, there are several reputable journals with the same exact names.
Yeah, like one of the commentators wrote here, the bloggers who are complaining about what other economists write or publish are just "losers," while another commented that they are "fooking assholes".
I would say the same to these mother fookers. I read the scholarly articles of the authors mentioned by these bloggers, and they are all legitimate and interesting. But then again there are the mother fookers who do their blogging here for want of anything else to do.
I just found out who has been whining about the scholarly publications in this journal. These are two students who both flunked in the classes of Professors Mendoza and Das. These students are really a-holes
Undergraduate students wouldn't know the difference between top economic journals and fakes.
Pointing out that some people publish in these fake journals doesn't make them an a-hole. It's the opposite. It makes them a whistleblower.
