Federal Reserve System Hiring Freeze
-
The flyouts will go on as planned. However, it is certain that no new offers will be made, at least for the time being. Fate of the already made/accepted offers is unclear.
Then why people waste time to do the flyout, especially the candidates?
I don't understand this kind of attitude. If you are a candidate, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and freely advertise your research. If anything, it is a waste of time for the recruiters. If you have to cancel a flyout at Harvard to give this talk, sure it will be a waste of your time, but I doubt many people face an actual tradeoff.

Believe me it was more time wasting for us than candidates, but as soon as it was 100% that we won't make offers, all the flyouts are cancelled anyways.
