Any updates regarding hiring for vacant positions at the Board?
Federal Reserve System Hiring Freeze
-
I really doubt that any sort of hiring will resume before the next job market cycle. While there may be some exceptions of people who fell through the cracks and took jobs at lower ranked universities and/or the private sector, the set of candidates who would still be available to take a job at the fed are a very negatively self-selected pool. I doubt the fed would take them, especially because the board and most regional feds are selective in who they hire.

I'm curious, too. The Fed Board jobs page on its website has economist jobs listed and shows it was last updated a couple of weeks ago. Any word on whether they are in fact hiring now?
I talked with a few people I know that work there. While jobs are being posted, they are not hiring, yet. They are being very cautious because they don't want to upset the White House by giving the appearance that they are defying Executive Orders to reduce the size of the Federal workforce. Even though the FED technically doesn't have to abide by the Executive Order, they don't want to "poke a hungry bear,"with all the FED haters out there and in the administration.
However, once they do start hiring, it will be quick.
