There's a prize at Collège de France (Prix Peccot) or the best work done each year by a mathematician based in France and under 30. It has a pretty good record of picking out future French, German and Italian Field's lauréates.This would point to HDC.
It's an award for junior (under-30) mathematicians. As a precursor for Fields it's not as relevant as EMS prizes (for under-35 mathematicians) or even SASTRA Ramanujan prize (under-32).
The real question is when (not if) other departments raid Michigan's number theory group and snatch away its best faculty. This happened about 15 years ago when Michigan lost Conrad, Soundararajan and Skinner.i heard that bb was offered by Columbia in 2018, but didn't go for some reason. pretty sure he will leave in the near future, although now he has been offered a fancy professorship so he might even be persuaded to stay.

I think they'll wait til 2026 to give it to James Maynard since the others are not eligible then
Maynard will probably get it in 2022. There are other contenders who would likely not get it in 2022 because they are eligible in 2026: Jacob Tsimerman, Jack Thorne, Karim Adiprasito.
